The Eleventh Day

I got up at 600 and checked the AQI it was in the unhealthy range so I decided not to run. At 645 I talked to madre and then showered and went to get steamed buns with Ben. They were fine. I came back up to the room and got some more stuff done. At 800 I left for the lab. I spent the morning doing random things like getting stuff ready for PCR and other stuff, always under careful supervision. I need to talk to Dr. Hongmei about a project. Mrs. Fleming should email out the stuff that we need to know tomorrow. Lunch was good, I had dish that was very good and a potato dish as well. I came back to the door and talked to Moo again and then talked to Kelly. It was awesome to here from both of them especially Kelly as I had not heard her in a number of days.

This afternoon started slow. I went to the lab and fell asleep for 30 minutes or so, I then started working with Yulan. We made gels then started cleaning bacteria for later use. I started to be more vocal about asking questions about why we were doing what we were doing. This helped immensely. I found out that the bacteria that we were cleaning was not for one specific experiment, we were just preparing them for when needed. I talked to her about the gels that were prepared and found out some things about that as well. I started off this afternoon very homesick but by the end I was only  little. the work that we were doing allowed me to take my mind off it for a while. I am going to go swim, hopefully I will remember to take some photos of the pool. I have been very bad about taking pictures these last few days.
It looks like it may rain which would be great. after it rains the air clears up for a few days. this would give me more chances to run without worry or hurting my lungs and body.

Swimming was good I did about 4000 meters, in the hour and 15 that I was there. a few hundred warm up, 2000 straight alternating 100's of free and back, 1000 straight free, then a 500 breast, warm down in between.  I then walked home without a shirt on as I don't bring a towel and have to drip dry, so I wear as little as possible on the walk home and am dry by the time I get back to the dorms. there is a sign in the guys locker room that I need to take a photo of. it worded rather awkwardly.
I am going to have a PB&J eggs and nuts for dinner, along with some of the local yogurt that is kinda strange but enjoyable all the same. It came in pouches like the milk did.

Talked to moo and David which was nice.
